We went to the Spurs game on Monday. They were ahead up until the last quarter when they apparently decided to take it easy, leaving the Thunder open to score basket after basket, until the game was lost. I thought Wes would be upset by this, but the two point score difference at the end made for an exciting time, especially since all of the big name guys were on the court together. He was super thrilled, despite the loss!
And our seats were amazing. We were close enough that we could see the expressions on the players’ faces. All of the restaurants near the Ford Center were packed, so we opted to dine at the arena, two hours before the game. Unbeknownst to us, this meant that Wes was able to watch the Spurs warm up for a good long while. The pizza was overpriced and cold, but it was well worth it to see how excited Wes was.
My parents came and picked the girls up for a little Texas vacation on Sunday, leaving us free to go to the game without worrying about keeping the girls out too late, spending money on two extra tickets, “enjoying” the game by strolling the concourse with two tots, etc. I had planned on switching out Ana’s crib for her toddler bed while she was out of town, but Wes, being an awesome papa, suggested that we go all out and give her whole room a makeover. So, we did. Here are the before pictures…

Starting bright and early on Tuesday morning, we began painting. First, we had to get the walls from the “it was like this when we moved in” khaki to white…

Who knew the walls were that dark!?! Anyway, Wes went on to work, and I spent the day painting. White. Then, a very pretty pink…

This is me, squealing, “Pink walls! Pink walls!” (This is the first time I’ve ever gotten to paint a room for either of my girls. We moved to Japan right after Ana was born, then got pregnant with Emma right away, then moved back to the US right after Emma was born, then had two children under eighteen months old for a good long while, and… oh, I’m just exhausted thinking about it. I’ve been too tired to paint. Until now, that is!)

What a cute little toddler bed! (We’re still waiting on the princess comforter and sheets to arrive. Soon, hopefully!) Another side of the room…

The window side…

(How do you like the random trash can? Ha!) Ana’s nightstand…

And the picture frames above her bed. Complete with pictures of some pretty, pretty girls in dress up clothes…
