Katie McKenna is NOT in love with Luc DeForges. It’s been eight years since she was humiliated in front of his family, her family, their friends, and all of New Orleans, and she’s moved halfway across the country, found a respectable career, and betrothed herself to a sensible man. She is decidedly NOT in love with Luc DeForges… until, of course, he comes back to ask her to sing at his brother’s wedding. Then, all of the unanswered questions from their past make her question her future, and she begins to wonder if perhaps she is in love after all.
This is the story of A Billion Reasons, Christian chick-lit author Kristin Billerbeck’s latest novel. I’ve read many of Billerbeck’s books (the Ashley Stockingdale series and the Spa Girls series), and this honestly wasn’t my favorite. At times, things got a little too cheesy for my taste, and Katie’s ability to flip flop so dramatically in her emotions was a little unbelievable. But, like all of Billerbeck’s other novels, it was still a VERY fun read. The plot was fast-paced and active, and while I could have guessed how it would all turn out, I honestly had no idea how we would get there, which made it all the more enjoyable to read.
