Wes and I ran our first 5K today.
I was a little nervous about it all last night, so I convinced Wes that we needed to go up there and run the route “just to make sure” we knew what we were doing today. We did last night, and we did today. Wes did so well that he placed second in his age category, earning himself a medal. I placed fifth out of ten in my age category which meant no medal, but I still managed to cut two minutes off of my best 5K time, finishing at 33:34. (Yeah, some of those old ladies were lightning fast, apparently. Or just faster than my slow-paced shuffle-run.)
A small first step towards 26.2…
