A few days ago, we saw a woman at the store who was very clearly pregnant. Her husband was with her, carrying a child who looked to be about six months old.
While watching them, I thought to myself, “Oh, wow! She’s having those babies WAY too close together!”
I thought on the insanity of getting pregnant so soon after giving birth for a good long while, before it hit me…
Hello, Pot. Meet Kettle.
Yes, I was that woman four and a half years ago! It’s just easy to forget what that was like now that my two-in-a-year are potty trained, can speak clearly, no longer vomit large amounts of formula all over me, etc. So easy to forget, in fact, that I clearly forgot for a moment that I “had those babies WAY too close together!” Wes called me a hypocrite, and he’s totally right. This still didn’t keep me from having a really good laugh at myself, because she was probably thinking the same thing when she saw the chatty sisters that I was pushing around in my cart! Ha!
My apologies, friend. This likely isn’t the first time someone has thought something stupid about you, and it won’t be the last. Just rest in the truth that those people who are thinking something critical have probably done the same thing and are just too tired and senile to remember.
Tis simply a symptom of having babies WAY too close together, I tell you. Ha!
