1000th Post

Can you believe that this is my 1000th blog post?  I’m amazed myself, frankly.  When I realized the significance of this post, I thought back on the day I started this blog.  We had just moved to our first pastorate at Central Baptist Church of Okinawa, Japan with an eight week old Ana.

Our intent was to write news to our family back home, keeping them up to date on all the exciting things that would be happening in Japan.  Little did we know that the excitement would start early, with a positive pregnancy test just two months into life on the island…

Surprise!  And a great big Konichiwa to Emma!

Then, the Faulk Four moved to Oklahoma.

Which, for two Texans, was just as foreign as Japan.  We would end up spending four years at Western Heights Baptist Church, where our girls grew…

And grew….

And grew…

And grew!

Along the way, we became Disney freaks…

Adopted our sweet Charlie….

And served well where God had us for four years.

Wes and I started running and ran our first 5K…

Our first 10K…

And a few half marathons…

At the end of 2011, we were called to Memorial Baptist Church of Pasadena, Texas…

Soon after, we finally ran our first marathon…

And we’ve run a few more since then!  I think we’re hooked.

We officially became residents of Texas, once again…

Saw BOTH of our girls go off to school…

And rejoiced that the free time this afforded Mommy turned into something that’s SO, SO FUN!

We’ve praised God for His work here in Pasadena, including the work He’s just started in Ana’s heart.

Wow!  1000 posts from new parents on a tiny island in Japan, just starting out in ministry, to where we are now.

Can’t wait to see what the next 1000 posts will bring!
