If you read Christmas Surprises, you’ll remember Beth’s dad from that book, and if you read Crushed, you’ll remember Joey from that one.  Putting them together in a story worked out well, as they weren’t related to each other.  (Which is a struggle after thirty books, y’all.  This is why all of my “connected characters” from this point on will have to find love interests that aren’t connected to any characters anywhere!)

I love writing about couples in ministry but find that there’s some criticism that comes with it because the picture isn’t always a happy one.  I worked on this one as we ourselves were moving churches – not to “bigger and better” as Joey says and not because of conflict like Beth explains, but because it was time.  I think a lot of what I’m writing about these days revolves around what we’re learning about God’s faithfulness even in the challenges of transitions, of serving in ministry, and of finding the blessings in both the good and the bad.  I hope this book gives an accurate picture of what ministry looks like and that God’s goodness is seen in Beth’s story.If you’ve already read it, THANK YOU!  I would love it if you’d go on over to Amazon, find the book here, and leave a review.  And if you haven’t gotten your copy yet… well, what are you waiting for?!
