A New Tune… in THREE WEEKS!

I am SO EXCITED, y’all!  Three weeks from today, on June 23rd, I’ll be releasing another full length novel!  Here’s a little blurb about A New Tune

Marie Boyd knows what it means to be a stranger in a strange land.  When she left her native Namibia for the United States, she found her identity in Christ for the first time.  Years later, though, she still struggles to feel truly at home anywhere, reconciling who she was half a world away with who she is now and who she’ll be.

Scott Huntington knows what it means to be the odd man out.  While the rest of his family lives for Christ, he has no need for faith.  When his work leads him right back into church, he asks himself some hard questions about what grace really is and why it makes a difference.

As they meet up on their very different journeys, Scott and Marie find themselves wrestling with questions of love, faith, identity, and grace in Christ… and discover along the way that God’s calling may be for them to discover, together, how to learn one new tune after another.

Purposely vague, friends, because I don’t want to spoil ANY of this story for you.  Part of the story takes place in Namibia, and part of the story takes place in the US.  Both characters are characters you’ve seen before in other books, but like ALL of my books, you don’t have to read the whole series to jump into this story.  It’s a story about redemption, identity, grace, and love, of course, with plenty of funny and lots of romance.  It’s also full of hints about novels that will be coming out in the fall/winter and a sneak peek chapter of a novella due out in late July/early August.

In other words, you’re going to want to mark June 23rd on your calendar, y’all.

I’ll post more on Facebook and here on the blog in the meantime.  SO excited, and hope you love reading this one as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Happy reading, friends!

    Yay for new book!

However, I am confused. Isn't Scott one of Seth's many brothers? Wouldn't that make him a lot older than Marie (Daniel's & Sara's daughter)? The reference in “Promises Kept” indicates that Scott is old enough to drink.

Yes! It would make him about nine years older than her… and it comes up in the book. 🙂 He was three in the very first book, Sara got married a few years later, and Marie was born a few years after that. I have a list of characters in this “second generation” and their ages in relation to one another so that I can keep track of this as we move back in time and forward in time through all the different plots and books.

And I'm WAY impressed that you remembered enough about the books to know this much about the characters! 🙂

I was gonna ask how big your story board is to keep track of all these characters, ages, how they are related, and how they know each other! I'm so impressed with how you weave the details together!!!

    Thanks for the clarification.

I agree with Christy's response – it's amazing at how you keep track of all of the characters. Sometimes I have to re-read and cross reference to recall the relationships!
