Quick Little Book Update…

Just a quick little book update for those who’ve been wondering what’s going on and what’s coming up…

– Destination Wedding is almost finished!  I’ll say that again.  Destination Wedding is almost finished!  I’m a little torn about when to release this.  I’ll have it ready before the end of the month (way sooner than the end of the month, actually), but I’d originally envisioned releasing it at the beginning of June.  You want it sooner than later,  you say?  That’s great, but will it make the wait between that book and the next one seem even longer, since my June and July are packed and will probably yield approximately five minutes of writing time?  Hmm.  What do you think?  May release or June release?

– Remember when I said I’d written an entire novella in one day?  I did, in fact, finish the first draft of that novella and have since been revising and editing it.  When is it going to be available on Amazon?  It’s going to be a while, but there’s a reason.  I’m joining up with a group of other clean Christian romance writers, and we’re all putting our novellas together to sell as a collection on Amazon.  How fun is that, right?  The publication date for that will be September 20th, and I’m super excited about it.  If you’ve read Taking Chances, you’ll remember Jill’s sister, Lisa, and some of the plans she was making towards the end of the book.  This novella is her story, and I really, really think you’ll enjoy it.  So… September 20th!

– Isaac’s book, Crushed, will be out in the fall… or late summer.  It’s hard to tell at this point when I don’t know what our summer is going to look like.  Could I have five minutes to write, or (gasp!) dare I hope for more?  Wes is taking his first set of classes for his doctoral work this summer, and one of his classes is a writing class to prepare him for what’s up ahead.  What in the world does that have to do with me?  I have to read the books with him so that when he does start writing the papers I can be a better reference point on style and content.  (Tis the curse of being married to the man with dyslexia.  It takes two sets of eyes to catch the crazy on those papers, y’all.)  All that said, Isaac’s book is already in the works.  I’m just not sure when it’ll be done.

– Two of my books are now permanently 99 cents!  Yes, Just Breathe and Take Heart are 99 cents and will ALWAYS be 99 cents.  I thought everyone knew this, but I posted a link to Take Heart on Facebook the other day, along with a little “a sweet read for 99 cents!,” and I sold more copies in twelve hours than I did the entirety of the previous week.  So, apparently, someone didn’t know that it was discounted.  If you’re looking to recommend my books to someone, please feel free to recommend them all (seriously), but keep in mind that those two are always bargain-priced for readers who need a litmus test before they spend more than 99 cents.  You know, readers like me, who get no greater joy in life than paying for things with spare change because it makes us feel like we’re saving money that way.  (Do I have enough pennies for a McFlurry?  If I do, it’s a great day!)

– More new covers are coming!  Woo-hoo!  This has created a lot of thrills and drama, all at the same time.  I updated everything on Home to You, and in the process, a rogue copy of Home to You posted itself onto Amazon.  For real, there were two different copies of it on Amazon!  I got that straightened out but not before that rogue copy sold a bunch of copies.  I have no idea how Amazon will handle the royalties for that (since they went in and pulled the book shortly thereafter, per my request), but the exciting part was that the new cover obviously drove up sales!  You wouldn’t think it happens that way, but it does.  So, I’m going to keep on with the new covers until I’ve got them all changed!

I think that’s about it for now.  So excited about all that’s up ahead!  What are YOU most excited about?

Well since I'm a relatively new reader of yours. I'm curious about Isaac. Is his story part of a series I need to catch up on? Oh I am excited about lisa ' s story since I just read Taking Chances.

You should read them all, just to be safe! 🙂 But seriously, there's a book for each of Isaac's brothers – Perfectly Pretend is Craig, Take Heart is Aaron, and The Plan is Eli. Eli was the groom in Taking Chances, if that puts it into context. You should be able to read Isaac's book and understand everything without reading the others, but he's in those for some added background.
